Pimpama is situated at the northern end of the Gold Coast in Queensland, the tourist capital of Australia.
Pimpama is located north of the Coomera River and on the western side of the M1 Pacific Motorway. It borders Willow Vale in the north and the Coomera River.
With its close proximity to the nearby M1 Motorway, Pimpama has become a haven for young families and professionals who travel to Brisbane each day. It takes approximately 40 minutes to drive to Brisbane from Pimpama, and to Surfers Paradise in less than 20 minutes.
Pimpama is considered to be one of the Gold Coasts’ three urban centres, in addition to Robina and Southport. There has been an abundance of development in the local area, which has only benefited the residents.
COMMUNITY
The Upper Coomera Centre is a $22 million construction which opened in April 2013 and includes a community and youth centre, customer service centre, Councillor’s office, aquatic centre and café. It also includes the Upper Coomera Branch Library which is the newest branch of the Gold Coast libraries.
The Aquatic Centre features something for everyone. A heated pool for those who wish to do casual lap swimming and aqua play, and a separate children’s play area with many features tends to attract families with children.
SHOPPING
Upper Coomera/Pimpama has several shopping locations including:
• Coomera City Centre
• Coomera Grand Shopping Centre
•The Hub at the junction of Days Road and Old Coach Road
Together these three centres consist of Woolworths and Aldi supermarkets, a Masters Home Improvement store, Food Outlets and various other stores.
If you’re looking for clothes, electrical items and other supplied the nearby major shopping centres can accommodate this. Situated close by is Westfield Coomera Town Centre along with HarbourTown & Australia Fair Shopping Centre.
LIFESTYLE
Pimpama is right next door to some of the Gold Coast’s major theme parks including Wet’n’Wild, Dreamworld and Movieworld, as well as the Australian Outback Spectacular show.
Golf courses are plentiful with Gainsborough Greens and Hope Island being the closest. Nearby is the exclusive Sanctuary Cove Golf Course with shopping, entertainment and marina facilities.
The Gold Coast Marine Precinct is classed as the major marine industrial area within Gold Coast City which is dedicated to manufacture, servicing/repairs and refits of recreational boats. It consists of 200 water berths and has deep-water ocean access to the Broadwater and Moreton Bay via the Coomera River.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Pimpama is easily accessible with a number of bus routes in the local area which are provided by Surfside Bus Lines and operated by Translink.
The Pimpama station is scheduled to start being built in 2021 however the closest train station is in the neighbouring suburb of Coomera – which provides direct access to Brisbane in 60 minutes and Robina in 20 mins.
